2 April 2019. Green HoMe contributed significantly to the presentation of the proposal “MWood – Mediterranean Wood for Modular Constructions” within the H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions program for research activities in mobility between university and business (Call H2020-MSCA-RISE-2019 per Research and Innovation Staff Exchange).
The Center has carried out an intense networking activity which has led to the involvement of 11 partner in 6 villages (Italia, Greece, Spain,Slovenia, Swiss, Türkiye) with the University of Calabria as leader.
In addition to’University of Calabria (coordinator Prof. Raffaele Zinno) and at the Pole Green HoMe, participate in the proposal: University of Granada, CESEFOR e STOP (Spain), University of Thessaly, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), InnoRenew CoE e CBD (Slovenia), Institute of Construction and Environmental Technologies iTEC (Swiss), CHOOSE – Kastamonu Integrated Agac Industry (Türkiye).
The proposal foresees an intense exchange of researchers (altogether, 140 months of mobility) on three objectives: i) development of protocols and techniques for the use of various types of Mediterranean wood for structural and non-structural purposes; ii) development of construction techniques for the construction of modular and relocatable wooden structures; iii) experimentation of composite panels for non-structural use with the use of natural fibers.
The work done and the transnational relationships built for the preparation of the proposal will certainly be useful for the future activities of the Polo Green HoMe on the Calabrian wood supply chain.
