Selected 5 projects to transform academic research results into innovative products
The Calabria Region has selected five projects aimed at transforming the results of public research – between beyond 100 searches collected in the online catalog www.convalideindustriali.it – in innovative products or services developed by Calabrian companies.
The projects in the rankings address issues of environmental sustainability and health:
- TOP FREE – Short Chain Roofs and Hanging Gardens for the Redevelopment of Existing Buildings (D&P srls)
- DeepStethoscope – Deep learning for the prediction of respiratory anomalies and pathologies from auscultation sounds (Arcon srl)
- DermMemSil – Hybrid membranes containing silica micro and nanoparticles for skin applications and as bioartificial skin models (Nanosilical Devices srl)
- EcoCalMix – Ecofriendly Mix based on Calabrian clay for tanning applications / Eco-sustainable preparations based on Calabrian clays for tanning applications (EARTH spa)
- ReMo – Butts recovery (AzzeroCO2 srl)
The projects are promoted by small and medium-sized industrial enterprises (EARTH spa, AzzeroCO2 srl, D&P srls), academic spin-offs and innovative startups (Nanosilical Devices srl, Arcon srl), in partnership with research groups of the University of Calabria and two CNR institutes (ITM, IIA).
Green HoMe has actively supported companies and research groups aggregated to the Polo in the activities of scouting. The project TOP FREE is sponsored by the aggregate company D&P srls and enhances research skills in the area of green infrastructure and sustainable construction while EcoCalMix benefited from the Polo's networking activities in the field of valorisation and reuse of materials.
