Presentation of the SILAB2 project in “Meetings in the Park” (9-23 August 2021, Nave della Sila and Torre Camigliati).
The enhance the Calabrian woods has always been one of the key elements of the Green Home Scarl Mission. The goal is to create a short and virtuous supply chain, aimed at spreading an innovative forest culture, enhancing indigenous resources.
The different activities carried out over the years by Polo Green Home, as part of the development of this supply chain, were condensed in the presentation of the project proposal SILAB2: it is a local development model based on a new alliance between Woods and Villages, between agriculture and digital, aimed at addressing the complex problems of the inland areas of Calabria and the entire country.
SILAB2 is an innovative forest management project: a group of landowners from the Sila plateau, public and private and increasingly wider, propose to create a complex path that from the care of the woods leads to the creation of a system of components for green building certified and oriented to restore the traditional and productive relationship between woods and villages. The partnership of SILAB2, Besides 29 participants for a total of 9.292,92 hectares of forests, include 4 sponsoring bodies (Calabria Region, Sila National Park, Italian Forestry Association, Regional Company for the Development of Calabrian Agriculture, Province of Cosenza) e 3 highly qualified suppliers (I.W.T. Iavarone Wood Technology, Green Home s.c.ar.l., NTT Data Italia).
The project will be presented by some representatives of the partnership during the meeting scheduled for 18 August, within the programming of “Meetings in the Park”.
