Activities:

LASEER – Electrical systems laboratory for renewable energy – carries out research and teaching support activities in the various production sectors, transport, distribution and use of electricity, with particular reference to smartgrids and microgrids. With reference to experimental research in the field of production, transmission, electricity distribution (from the transitory analysis in case of failure to the planning of the exercise) and with particular attention to power quality problems, the laboratory takes care of:

• realization – in scala – of smart and microgrids (micro wind turbine 400W, 500W photovoltaic system, 1kWe Stirling generator, controllable electrical loads, automation systems with KNX protocol - MODBUS RTU and ETH, battery, electronic power converters of the dc-dc and dc-ac type, etc);
• realization of electronic power devices for the connection of a microgrid to the distribution network (power electronic interface) and for the management of the power flows of renewable source generation systems or electrochemical storage systems;
• test of models and algorithms for the management of a microgrid and / or a home automation system (demand response, demand side management, etc);
• measurement and analysis of the performance of electronic devices for energy efficiency
